  • It has the perfect mix of water, oxygen, light, heat, and minerals to support life.
  • The earth’s surface is 71% water and 29% land.

The five largest bodies of water are:

  1. Pacific Ocean
  2. Atlantic Ocean
  3. Indian Ocean
  4. Southern Ocean
  5. Arctic Ocean

The largest portions of land, called continents, are:

  1. Africa
  2. Antarctica
  3. Asia
  4. Australia
  5. Europe
  6. North America
  7. South America
  8. The Pacific Islands together with Australia are often referred to as the continent of Oceania
