Ivory Gull January 27 2010- January 29 2010

Ivory Gull On January 27 2010 we went to West Point Lake and Dam to see the Ivory Gull that had come down on the Alberta clipper that came from up north. When we saw him we went home to look at our pictures. When we were done looking at them, we decided to go back because I didn’t get any good photo’s at all.

We went back and when we got there he just sat there on the ground all day except for all but three time’s. Later, we met a man who said there were 8 mature bald eagles and 2 immature bald eagles. So we thought that he was joking about it, but sure enough when we went to look for the gull, Dad saw something in the tree out across the lake. He took a picture of it and looked at it and it was a bald eagle right there in the tree across the lake.

Today, the final day, we went back to see him and the bald eagles again and guess what happened, the Ivory gull had been attacked by something and it had a broken wing. Right before we were going to leave, we checked the gull one more time and he had his head looking up on a tree nearby. So leaving and feeling sad, we drove home. Before we got half way home we got a call saying that they where bringing him to a bird vet. Now we came home feeling confident that he would live, we made dinner but before we finished making dinner we got another call saying that breathing only 2 times a minute, he died. the end.
